Food for the Soul: Julie Lin, Pam Brunton, Katie Goh & the Hebridean Baker

Details

Part of our Life’s Fundamentals strand, Scottish chefs, food writers, and memoirists discuss the power of the culinary to shape who we are. Malaysian Scottish chef of Glasgow’s award-winning restaurant GaGa, Julie Lin, introduces Sama Sama, a celebration of how recipes can bring people together and forge a path of self-discovery. Award-winning Highland restaurant owner, Pam Brunton, shares Between Two Waters, exploring how the immersive experience of ‘destination restaurants’ can both help and hinder our understanding of wider land and food culture. Edinburgh-based writer and journalist, Katie Goh, brings us Foreign Fruit, delving into the multifaceted history of the orange, and showing how, in pulling it apart, we might gain a fresh understanding of our own heritage and capacity for change. Taking place alongside the Paisley Food and Drink Festival, we’re delighted to welcome back festival favourite Coinneach MacLeod, AKA The Hebridean Baker, to host this fascinating discussion.
