Get A Round In brings together the best singer-songwriters for a Nashville style writers’ round.

This new regular event at The Met features three artists sharing the stage to showcase their songwriting talent and tell the stories behind their music. Expect the very best of Greater Manchester’s acoustic talent.

Our valentines day event features…

Hannah Ashcroft

Mingling offbeat lyrics, memorable melodies and wonky guitar riffs, Hannah Ashcroft creates vibrant soundscapes with hues of indie, alternative and folk.

Over the years, she has attracted the attention of tastemakers on BBC 6 Music, Amazing and Absolute Radio and her music featured by the likes of Clash and Lock magazines. Her recent EP HUSK also earned her a place on the Glastonbury Emerging Talent list.

After busking her way through European cities and along Australian coastlines, she has recently supported indie favourites BC Camplight, Siobhan Wilson and US songwriter Lissie, as well as collaborating with Mercury prize nominated artist, Beth Orton.

Stevie Williams

Acoustic singer-songwriter Stevie Williams says “I was born in Salford UK and raised on dreams and fresh air!… and Shelagh Delaney”. He has played, recorded and toured with a large number of artists, including Christy Moore, Ralph McTell, Hot House Flowers, Hamish Stuart (Average White Band), Madeline Bell, John Cooper Clarke, and Tanita Tikaram.

Ben P Williams

The evening will be presented by Manchester based singer-songwriter Ben P Williams, whose songs have seen support from BBC Radio 6, BBC Radio 2 and BBC Introducing. Moulding the classic song-writing sound of Paul Simon with the laid-back nature of Jack Johnson, Ben draws inspiration from the greats while injecting his own wit and imagination into lyrics and melodies which can’t help but bring a smile to your face.
