Details

This exhibit uses poetry, paintings, collages, film and original music to explore childhood trauma and the grief associated with it. The strength of the work lies in it's vulnerability and emotional charge.

The short film follows the relationship between the film maker and a doll which symbolizes his inner child. Their story is at times brutal and at times heartwarming. The doll comes to life thanks to a child voice actor, who adds depth to the character. The original music expands on certain feelings, like guilt after traumatic events and loneliness.

Other works discuss healing from trauma, lost memories and yearning for a love that was never there.

This might help you reflect on your own story, or you could simply be immersed in a colourful and nostalgic world.
