Details

Alison Larkin is a best-selling novelist and comedian bringing her show Grief: A Comedy fresh from Soho Theatre, Edinburgh Fringe and Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour on a UK tour, following a sell-out run in the US.

Alison found true love for the first time in her 50s with an Indian climate scientist who had also immigrated to the US. Then he died. Then something wildly unexpected happened. Instead of wanting to hide under the bed and never come out, Alison found herself wanting to live and love more fully than ever before. When Archbishop Desmond Tutu found out about it, he insisted she write this show – with music by Emmy Award-winning composer Gary Schreiner.

Alison’s book, The English American, was published by Simon & Schuster in 2009 and called the ‘most powerful book of the season’ by Vogue. She is publishing Grief… A Comedy as a book in 2024 as a companion to the stage show.
