Details
Handel’s Israel in Egypt is one of Handel’s most lavish and dramatic oratorios. Unusually, the choir is given the starring role, relating the story of the Biblical plagues and the Israelites’ flight from Egypt and triumph over the Pharaoh’s army in a series of thrilling and startlingly inventive choruses. In their first ever performance of this masterpiece, KCS is joined by the period instruments of The Purcell Orchestra and six fine young soloists from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
Soloists: Soprano: Georgie Malcolm & Harriet Cameron Countertenor: Alexander Hutton Tenor: Dominic Lee Bass: Alaric Green & Jacob Harrison The Purcell Orchestra Conductor: Andrew Griffiths
Kingston Choral Society gratefully acknowledges the financial support of the Josephine Baker Trust for the soloists in this concert.
