The Wilson Learning Team is delighted to offer a workshop for Home Educators and their children aged 4-12.

Have you ever wondered how an exhibition is put on at a museum? Now you can find out, as we use the Wilson’s brand-new Test Space gallery to explore how we think people should learn about art and social history.

What stories should a museum and art gallery tell, and how we should those stories be told? What do you think is important about an object and its past?

This exciting workshop will allow children to think about what objects and artworks they would like to find in a museum, what stories about people and the past they think are important, and how they would produce a museum display to reflect this.

Explore handling objects, delve into different themes from the past, examine some of our amazing artwork, before putting together our own mini-museum – a Museum of Us, and our stories.

To facilitate the design of the Museum of Us, we ask that every participant brings in an object or item that is important to them. We promise not to keep them!

Accompanying adults do not require a ticket but please note this is not a drop off session and adults are encouraged to join in activities with their children.
