“HOMEFRONT WEDDING” BY BARBARA HARRIS AUGUST 2025 WILL BE 80 YEARS SINCE VJ DAY AND THE END OF WW2WOODFORD PLAYERS IS COMMEMORATING THE EVENT WITH THE ABOVE SHOW

Life could be hard during the Second World War, but the songs, radio programmes, films and comedy of the era kept up the spirits of those on the home front.“Homefront Wedding” at Woodford Players recreates the era for your enjoyment. You will watch a famous scene from a film, be in the audience at a radio play and sing-a-long to songs of the era. The show concludes with an invitation to a wedding.

This show is being performed by members of Woodford Players but WE NEED FULL AUDIENCES to help us out with the singing. Perhaps you’d like to dress up in your favourite 1940’s look from Air Raid Wardens to Nurses to the Military or maybe your favourite dance dress and shoes to go to the local hop.
