Howells Hymnus Paradisi & Elgar Cello Concerto with Nottingham Harmonic Choir Elgar's ever-popular Cello Concerto serves as a prelude to the monumental Hymnus Paradisi by Herbert Howells, one of the pinnacles of the choral repertoire but only rarely performed. There can be few works as dramatic and heartfelt; any performance of this overwhelming work is a special occasion. This is a concert not to be missed.
Pre-Concert talk At 6.45pm there will be a 20-minute pre-concert talk about the programme. This is free for all ticketholders and will take place in the main auditorium - the Great Hall. The bar and foyer areas will be open for anyone not wishing to attend the talk and the Great Hall will be open for you to find your seats from 7.10pm.
