Ipswich School Festival of Music - Blues, Boogie and Swing Special

Our first Blues, Boogie and Swing Special at the Festival of Music features not one, but two of the saxophonists from the Jools Holland Rhythm & Blues Orchestra. Derek Nash and Anna Brooks will go toe-to-toe for your approval.

They will be accompanied in this groove-laden feast by guitarist Denny Ilett, director of the Bristol International Jazz & Blues Festival, organist Jim Watson, who has worked with Sting, Katie Melua and in the BBC’s ’Strictly’ band, Geoff Gascoyne, bass player to Jamie Cullum and Michel LeGrand and drummer George Double, who has worked with Dame Shirley Bassey and Grammy Award-Winner Jack Jones. Expect a party atmosphere with some healthy rivalry, a few laughs and some dancing thrown in for good measure.
