“It Flows With No Electrics” And “Through The Virtual Looking Glass”

Details

It Flows With No Electrics is a collaboration project showcase between Brain Injury Matters and the Sonic Arts Research Centre. The work is a rumination on the theme of ‘pause’ and its capacity to transform. The performance combines conversations, poetry, free-writing, and sonic illustrations in a series of audio visual compositions and improvisations. Verbal and visual signs and signals are translated into sonic atmospheres in the world-renowned immersive audio theatre Sonic Lab.

Through the Virtual Looking Glass is an inclusive ensemble featuring musicians from Drake Music Northern Ireland, Brain Injury Matters, and QUBe, the resident music ensemble based at the Sonic Arts Research Centre. Together they will present luminous improvisations with new accessible virtual reality instruments created for this work.

These performances are made possible by support from Performance without Barriers, Drake Music NI, Sonic Arts Research Centre Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Sound and Music, Queen’s University Belfast, and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council.
