The annual JTQ xmas party comes to 229 with special guest support from Speedometer and host and DJ Snowboy. TheJames Taylor Quartet (JTQ)released their debut single 'Blow Up', a heavy funk version of theHerbie Hancocktheme from the film of the same name, in 1987 to universal acclaim.BBC Radio 1's John Peelgave the single multiple plays on his show before theJTQdebut LP 'Mission Impossible' came out later the same year. In 1988,JTQreleased their signature tune 'Theme from Starsky and Hutch' which featuredFred WesleyandPee Wee EllisfromThe JB's.JTQwent on to become one of the biggest band's of the worldwide 'Acid Jazz' scene gaining a reputation for their incredible live shows. Speedometerare one of the UK's most established funk and soul bands. They have toured all over Europe and Japan releasing 8 studio albums, including collaborations with some of legendary names in soul and funk includingMarva Whitney, Eddie Bo, Robert Moore, Billy Wootenand more.
