Join John Joe MacNeil and Sileas Sinclair for an evening of Gaelic songs from Barra and further afield, tunes and plenty craic!
John Joe MacNeil is a Gaelic Singer from the island of Barra. He won the coveted Traditional Gold Medal at the Royal National Mòd in Fort William in 2017 and went on to win the Gold Medal at the Mòd in Inverness in 2021. He is a choral conductor and arranger currently conducting Binneas, a youth collective of 16 singers, and Barra Gaelic Choir. He currently works across a broad range of Gaelic language, culture and heritage projects as a freelancer. He hopes to launch his first solo album next year – Barraigh an Àigh.
Sileas Sinclair hails from connel in Argyll. She is a multi-instrumentalist and was recently inducted into the Hands up for Trad Hall of Fame for services to the community. As a choral director and arrange, Sileas has conducted Oban Gaelic Choir for over 20 years recently leading the choir to historic win – winning the Lovat and Tullibardine Shield four times in a row.
