Kamikamikami 歌耳歌耳歌耳 Art / Noise Happening

Details

Welcome to New Weird Birmingham, a shared space for experimental and innovative sounds. Our first night features experimental sounds from Japan, poetry and free-jazz rock action! KAMIKAMIKAMI (歌耳歌耳歌耳) is the solo project of Shuya Onuki, guitarist with heavy psych band Qujaku who played last year in Birmingham. Now resident in Berlin, he is absorbing the city's Techno and Krautrock vibes into his guitar-based sonic explorations. AL HUTCHINS is the lead singer of The Courtesy Group and is also an active and published poet. 'A howling faggot-and-pea visionary' Stewart Lee 'A surrealist lament for a loved and unlovely experience of urban working-class life' Fran Lock ZD GRAFTERS is built around boy wonder Zac's free jazz rhythms and dad Dave's heavy rock roots. Featuring Riddell Thomas on sax, they made The Quietus' end of year list with their album 'Three Little Birds'. 'Bass tone set to 'brutish churn', adds electronic frosting and sax dragging the results towards Zu and The Thing' The Quietus
