NI Opera presents From Old to New: Ulster Scots Songs Wednesday 13 November 1pm £5, includes tea/coffee/shortbread

Come and explore how Ulster Scots song has changed over time: from folk song evolving into classical art song to folk song influences in contemporary song. This lunchtime concert will be performed by mezzo soprano Carolyn Dobbin and pianist Tristan Russcher, who will lead you on a path through the evolutions of Ulster Scots song across an hour of beautiful song and fascinating musical insights.

Carolyn Dobbin Northern Irish mezzo-soprano and Samling Scholar, Carolyn has performed extensively in opera, oratorio and in solo recitals, including appearances at the Royal Opera House Linbury Theatre, NI opera, English National Opera, Grange Park Opera, Dorset Opera, Opera Holland Park, Luzerner theatre (contract) Stadttheater Bern, and RTVE Madrid and the Royal Albert Hall.

Tristan Russcher Tristan is one of the leading keyboard musicians on the island of Ireland and is in high demand as a collaborative pianist, having worked with Irish National Opera, Lyric Opera, the National Symphony Orchestra Ireland, NUI Maynooth, the Royal Irish Academy of Music, the RTÉ Concert Orchestra, Sestina, TU Dublin and the Ulster Orchestra.
