Light Up Leicester

Come to the Midlands largest light festival.

Light Up Leicester is a fantastic FREE night time festival, bringing lights, creativity and family fun to Leicester city centre from 12-15 March 2025.

Light Up Leicester will bring large scale light installations, performances and parades to the city, starting with a Roots of our Tree young peoples parade at 11am on 12 March. This large-scale community procession will open the festival! Bringing together over 300 young people, culminating in a majestic installation that will light up the Richard III Visitor Centre.

12 March, 11am: Roots of our Tree community parade. Other activity from 6pm till 10pm.

13-15 March: Activities all evening from 6pm till 10pm.

Aimed at families and showcasing some fantastic illuminated creations, Leicester city centre will come alive after dark!

This completely free festival celebrates community, creativity, and connection, transforming the streets into a glowing celebration of art and culture.
