Lost Mary – A Bristolian Christmas

Details

This student-led Love Actually inspired romantic comedy is as much a celebration of the yuletide season as it is an ode to the city of Bristol.

It is Christmas-Eve-Eve and all public transport has been cancelled due to extreme weather. Mary, a reserved and heartbroken nurse-in-training and Simon, an awkward, self-proclaimed ‘numbers guy’, are thrown together in Bristol Temple Meads as they try to make their way home for the evening.

Despite themselves, they tentatively head out together on a spontaneous ‘first date’. With adverse weather, next to no transport and many pubs closed, they travel across the windswept city to find a pub for their auspicious beginnings.

Along the way, we meet friends and strangers, carol singers and even a group of awkward and endearing Live-Action-Role-Play enthusiasts.

So, join Bristol Spotlights for their brand new family friendly play as it celebrates Bristol, love and the Christmas season and vibrantly confirms that ‘love is actually all around’.
