Details

Award recipients from The Michael Hurd Fund for young musicians

Elliott Cundy, double bass Mariia Liaskovets, violin

Michael Hurd (1928–2006) was an internationally respected composer, author and broadcaster who lived near Petersfield and devoted much of his time and energy to music in the Petersfield area. The Michael Hurd Fund for Young Musicians was set up by Petersfield Musical Festival in 2007 with the aim of encouraging and assisting young musicians to create and perform music of all kinds.

This event is free to attend - you do not need to book or buy a ticket - just turn up.

There will be a retiring collection in support of the Michael Hurd Fund for Young Musicians. Please give generously so that the fund can continue its work in support of young musicians.

Petersfield Musical Festival runs from 14 to 22 March 2025, with another exciting programme of concerts, and a wide range of performers and music - including choral, solo recitals, orchestral, jazz and opera.

Please consider supporting the Petersfield Musical Festival by making a donation or becoming a Friend of the Festival. Besides helping the Festival, Friends enjoy priority booking and a voucher towards Festival tickets, and are entitled to vote at our AGM. Further information can be found on the festival's website.
