Margrit Hasler - Live at the cornerHOUSE

Margrit Hasler is a viola player with a background in classical music who has enjoyed many years of working in top orchestras.

She has created a solo programme for viola with loop and pitch shift pedals in which she develops and transforms a wide range of material by some of her favourite composers such as Bill Frisell and Maurice Ravel, as well as exploring the bluegrass tradition. Each piece starts with one line only, as all the loops are recorded live. The music unfolds by the layering of several parts, some of which are improvised. Margrit is also adding the pitch shifter and various string techniques such as pizzicato and harmonics. Each piece develops into a unique journey in a rich and varied sound world.
