Join Salford Choral and the National Festival Orchestra for an unmissable performance of Mendelssohn’s monumental oratorio, which confirmed his place as one of the greatest composers of sacred music.

Described as the Messiah of its day, Elijah was premiered in 1846 at the Birmingham Festival in front of a 2,000-strong audience. It has remained popular ever since, with performers and audiences alike enjoying its drama and beauty.

Salford Choral’s 100-strong chorus will be joined on stage by the National Festival Orchestra – combining players with an amazing breadth of professional experience across the UK’s major symphony, chamber and opera orchestras.
