Featuring legendary guitarist Jim Mullen , Mighty Like The Blues explore the deeplegacy of the blues with passion and intensity.

Mighty Like the Blues are a band of five award winning jazz soloists brought together by a deep and powerful commitment to the blues in all its forms. The group features world-class guitarist Jim Mullen, who's 'endlessly attractive' playing (The Guardian) has seen him collaborate with legendary acts including Average White Band, Terry Callier and Jimmy Smith amongst many others. Expect to hear blues of all styles and in all forms, from the low-down gut-bucket to the sophisticated blue-ballad, all played with the group's trademark heart-felt intensity.

A delicious menu of hot food is available before this performance, with 2 courses for just £11. Food must be ordered before 7:30pm.

Thanks to funding from Southend-on-Sea City Council, via the Community Investment Board, a number of schemes are in place to make the Festival as accessible as possible. Discounted tickets are available to guests under 25 and a limited number of free tickets are available to people in receipt of Income Support.
