SIREN DUO Claire Wickes flute Tomos Xerri harp

Our first concert in the Library of Middle Temple. Themed around fire and water, the programme from this exceptional duo spans continents and centuries - from South American heat, through the classical elegance of Mozart, to a meditative piece by Japanese composer Toru Takemitsu inspired by Melville's novel Moby Dick. The performance concludes with William Alwyn's evocation of the rivers and reedbeds of Suffolk.

One of the country's most important legal libraries, and home to some of the Inn's treasurers, this intimate space is sure to be a perfect setting for the haunting sonority of flute and harp.

Debussy: Syrinx Mozart: Flute & Harp Concerto, 2nd movement David Watkins: Fire Dance Astor Piazzolla: Histoire du Tango (Bordel, 1900 & Café, 1930) Adina Izarra: El Amolador Toru Takemitsu: Towards the Sea III William Alwyn: Naiades

Duration: approximately 60 minutes. The Garden Room Café will be open especially to audience members for drinks after the concert until 9pm.
