Come on the ultimate picnic with the Airedale Symphony Orchestra Revel in nature and celebrate it's beauty and power
Performing: Beethoven: Symphony no. 6 in F, op 68 'Pastoral Symphony' Crick, Ben: Soundscapes of the Yorkshire Dales
Beethoven loved nature, and his pastoral symphony takes us on a perfect tour of a rural idyll, complete with a shepherd's pipe, birds singing, streams flowing, and a thunderstorm
Airedale Symphony Orchestra conductor Ben Crick [https://www.bencrickmusic.com/] has composed beautiful music all about the Yorkshire Dales, which has been part of a wonderful installation at Skipton Town Hall [https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-york-north-yorkshire-68564939]. We have commissioned Ben to extend this work for full symphony orchestra, which combined with film of the Yorkshire Dales will create our own concert hall sized immersive experience!
We will hold a collection for Menston Area Nature Trust [https://mant.org.uk/], a local charity supported by orchestra members that has recently purchased nearby Weston Woods [https://mant.org.uk/east-wood-acquisition/] as a new nature resource for our community.
