New Voices: Ciaran Ryan

Details

Already a veteran performer having toured the worlds stages for a decade, predominantly as a founding member of world-folk band Dallahan and as a highly sought after session musician, Ciaran Ryan is quietly becoming recognised as one of the foremost tenor banjo players the world has ever produced. He has already established himself as a prolific writer of tunes inspired by European and American folk styles with Dallahan and rock infused contemporary music with his own Ciaran Ryan Band, and more recently Shooglenifty.

Having been raised on a diet of traditional Irish music, his New Voices serves as a catalyst for him to delve deeper into those roots and explore his traditional background with a suite of all original music set firmly in the style of the traditional Irish music that formed him. Performing with Jarlath Henderson, Tom Callister, Luc McNally, Amy Laurenson, Craig Baxter and Greg Barry.
