The Nico Widdowson Trio sound comes largely from Nico's love of the Harlem stride of the 20s/30s mixed with UK's rich history of avant-garde bringing grit and humour to the band. It's a sound that's been bubbling in the Leeds scene for the last few years. Think Ellington, Monk, Sun Ra, Derek Bailey and Xero Slingsby
