It's a pleasure to welcome back Norwegian pianist Oddgeir Berg and his trio to Watermill Jazz. Their latest album was released in April this year on the German Ozella label, and it's entitled A Place Called Home. Home for Oddgeir is the tiny island of Rolla in northern Norway. The music takes us there, to his father's birthplace, for music about the magic of nature, the spaces hidden in memory, and the bonds that family provides.

You can expect sounds inspired by Keith Jarrett, McCoy Tyner and EST, sometimes melancholic and sometimes rocky, from this superb Scandinavian trio.

'This is a piano trio to get truly excited about, a trio for the new millennium.' -Dan McClenaghan, All About Jazz

Oddgeir Berg – piano, Audun Ramo – double bass, Lars Berntsen - drums
