ORA Singers - Miserere

Details

This is a Perth Festival of the Arts event.

Directed by Suzi Digby OBE, the multi-award winning ORA Singers celebrates one the world's most famous choral works, Miserere, by Gregorio Allegri. Drawing a link to the modern age, this programme ends with Sir James MacMillan's spellbinding setting of the same text used by Allegri in c.1630.

Between these two musical pillars are works by European masters of the Renaissance: Victoria, Lassus, and Palestrina, alongside contemporary 'reflections' by some of today's brightest musical minds. A new commission also features by acclaimed Scottish composer, Electra Perivolaris, setting text from William Drummond's 17th century poem, A Cypress Grove.
