Peasants, Nobles and Nuns

We take you on a dramatised journey from the activities of a country estate in Eugene Onegin to Rossini's Paris operas where villagers in William Tell sing alongside the revellers in Le Comte ory and solemn prayers of Mose in Egitto. Staying in Paris, Faure's Cantique de Jean racine and Pavane are set within scenes from Massenet's Werther and Manon. The performance comes to a climax in Sicily with Mascagni's Easter Hynm from Cavallera Rusticana.
