Meet 10.50am for an 11.00am walk
This walking tour, going into Pembroke College, will start in front of the Pitt Building on Trumpington Street (opposite Fitzbillies) and reveal some curious stories and sights in the Pembroke College/Peterhouse area. The first public building of, arguably, Britains greatest ever architect was in Pembroke. How did that come about? And, it was because of one Pembroke Fellow that George Lucas said Star Wars was the truly immersive experience I had always dreamed it would be.
Of all the Cambridge colleges, I think this one has perhaps the closest connection to the Monty Python members, but who went here?
Pembroke are very particular about entering at exactly the right time, so we will meet at 10:50 (in front of the Pitt Building opposite Fitzbillies on Trumpington Street). If people arrive late, they may have to come in by themselves and find the group.
