Piety and play in Versailles - sacred and secular music from the court of Louis XIV

Musicke in the Ayre's 3rd recital of their 2024 residency at St Mary's Bathwick visits Versailles in the period of Louis XIV. Their team of 3 sopranos (Jane Hunt, Maria Danishvar, and Philippa Neaverson) explore some wonderful music by Charpentier, Lully, and Lambert who made best use of their combination of voices in both sacred and secular forms. They'll be accompanied by Din Ghani playing continuo on archlute and baroque guitar. Refreshments available before and after the concert. Tickets £10 at the door, or £9 online in advance.
