Pitanga: Musicá Brasileira

Be transported to the botecos of Rio with Pitanga, and enjoy the vibrant sounds of choro, samba and more, via the HEART centre's lively Tuesday Night Live programme. Tickets via Ticketsource and the HEART website Martín Berger, an argentine saxophone wizard, brings the serpentine melodies of Bandolim and Pixinguinha from his time spent playing in Rio de Janeiro. Jacob Harrison plays the guitar, bringing his virtuosic classical and flamenco background to the Brazilian repertoire, as well as his own original fusion compositions. Alex Chadha drives the rhythm from behind the drum kit, with his years playing in a variety of Leeds-based bands, including Kibitz, Subrosa and, more recently, the Suéli Gil band.
