Portrait Drawing from Life with Julia Roach

Join artist Julia Roach for this afternoon session where you will be introduced to a number of techniques to approach portrait drawing using a live model working primarily in chalk and charcoal.

Suitable for both beginners and more experienced drawers, the session will help to develop observational skills utilising tone, line and proportion to create portraits from a live subject.

Julia will support you fully throughout the session giving regular one-to-ones, providing feedback and constructive advice.

Charcoal is a wonderful versatile drawing medium, it is very forgiving; one can create wonderful textures, be bold and very delicate, ideal for depicting faces.
