Radyr Drama Society presents'A Bunch of Amateurs'

Details

'A Bunch of Amateurs', written by Ian Hislop & Nick Newman, is a comedy in which a washed-up Hollywood star comes to England to play the title role in 'King Lear' at 'Stratford' believing he will be appearing at the legendary RST at Stratford-upon-Avon Instead he finds he has signed on with the 'Stratford Players' in a Suffolk village. The local villagers are a motley crew, but delighted to have a such an - albeit unsuccessful - star in their midst. He is a selfish American with no time for manners, and considers himself too big for this lowly setting. The transition to humble actor takes some time, but eventually he realises that he is no better, in terms of talent and intelligence, than his amateur colleagues.
