An unmissable evening of authentic flamenco dance and music from Spain.
Rebeca Ortega, a flamenco dancer from Seville, has gained international acclaim with her productions "SILENCES" and "RAÍCES," supported by Spain's embassies, the AECID catalog, and Madrid's Theater Network. Her performance at the 2022 Suma Flamenca Joven Festival reinforced her status as a rising star in traditional flamenco. Rebeca Ortega has performed and taught masterclasses across Europe and in countries like China, India, Bhutan, Ethiopia, Gabon, Azerbayan, Trinidad and Tobago and others around the world.
Rebeca continues to explore new artistic horizons, participating in projects that fuse flamenco with other forms of cultural expression, such as her recent collaboration with the famous band “PATAX,” where she blends Michael Jackson’s movements with flamenco, or in the production “KALASETU” in London, a show that combines traditional flamenco art with classical Indian music and dance. Her passion and versatility have established her as a prominent figure in the current flamenco scene.
From the tradition of flamenco culture, this dance performance is theatrically woven together, accompanied by traditional flamenco musicians, and expressed through the depth of the seguiriya, the femininity of the guajira, the intensity of the farruca, and the rhythms of the jaleos and bulerías. In a world filled with internal dialogues and an excess of noise and information, are we truly in control of our decisions? Often, we are overwhelmed by anxiety, hindering our mental calm. As a result, there arises a need to reflect on the value of silence in our society, in a flamenco piece full of passion, strength, and elegance. Did you know?
