Details

Sara Fjeldvær grew up on a small island on the coast of Norway. Raised in a house full of instruments in a small community, inspiration was no shortage. Spending her early teens listening to Eva Cassidy, Susanne Sundfør and her father's piano playing, Fjeldvær started writing songs from an early age. She later discovered The Who, King Crimson and Bob Dylan among others, and went on to study Performing Jazz at The Music Conservatory at NTNU (Trondheim), expanding her songwriting further.

Her songwriting is nuanced, bold and intimate, characterised with warm instrumentation of her distinct band. All of her releases have been recorded in Nyhavna Studio in Trondheim, produced by Mathias Angelhus, and released on her own label Fjordgata Records. Following up her self-titled debut album (2021) and the EP Best Love (2022), Fjeldvær dives deeper into her songwriting on her new album Stars, released earlier this year.

This is Sara's debut UK show and will be an intimate and special solo performance in The Old Toll Bar's Red Door Club. Support is from Edinburgh's Philomenah.
