This celebrated play is one of Terence Rattigan's finest. It consists of two linked one-act plays set in the same shabby genteel hotel in Bournemouth in the early 1950s, where the action shines a spotlight on a wide variety of human emotions. It is a chatty and engaging play - as Rattigan himself said, 'I believe the best plays are about people, not things'.
