Shibori Tie Dye for Beginners with Emi Fujisawa

Spend a Saturday with artist Emi Fujisawa for a workshop introducing you to the joy of the traditional Japanese technique of Shibori.

Emi will guide you through the process of creating an indigo dye vat and designing and creating your own Shibori piece to take home.

All materials provided, and students will be provided with a set of sashiko needles to take away so they can continue their Shibori journey at home.

Participants will take home: a completed piece of shibori fabric, 15 of sashiko needles, their design on the graph paper.

Participants will learn: how to make instant indigo vats, how to transfer their design to the Shibori dye, basic Shibori stitching techniques, details of suppliers of Shibori and indigo.
