Songs for Sidney

Sidney was born on 28th October 2024, a collie kelpie cross from outstanding lines. He was gifted to Jac and her family because their other working collie had become ill.

They had 3 good weeks with him. Then they noticed Sidney was having neurological symptoms (circling pacing head pressing) and vomiting. They took him to the vets where he was potentially diagnosed with a portosystemic liver shunt, Financially a scan is out of reach at the moment to confirm diagnosis. This is a potentially life limiting condition, at the time they didn’t expect him to survive the next 24 hours (he did). Then the family were told he’d have between 2weeks and 2 years to live, due to his neurological symptoms. But Jac and family did A LOT of research and Sidney is now on a plant based diet and his symptoms are greatly reduced. He’s on lactulose every day to stop toxins building up in his body, and has specialist food which costs me £50 every 2 weeks to buy in, about every 3 week he has a day where he doesn’t move, he sleeps all day and doesn’t eat and vomits. Almost like his body is resetting.

The purpose of the scan to confirm diagnosis, where long term we can then be referred to a specialist in liver issues to keep him happy and healthy for as long as possible.
