The four films by the American Dada and Surrealist artist are L’Etoile De Mer, Emak Bakia, Retour a la Raison and Les Mysteres Du Chateau Du De. SQÜRL began in 2009 when Jim Jarmusch and Carter Logan teamed up with producer/engineer Shane Stoneback to record some original music for the film The Limits of Control. They like big drums and distorted guitars, cassette recorders, loops, feedback, sad country songs, molten stoner core, chopped and screwed hip-hop, and imaginary movie scores. They’ve made an ambient electronic score for the film Paterson, and the band’s 2019 score to The Dead Don’t Die was the culmination of their passion for analog synthesis and guitar violence. In early 2020, SQÜRL returned to the road performing their score for Man Ray’s films and in support of their most recent release – Some Music for Robby Müller – a tribute to the legendary cinematographer.
