St. Rochs Celtic Connections Extravaganza

Details

The world famous St. Roch’s Ceili band led by 2023 TG4 Gradam Ceoil winner and stalwart of the traditional music scene Frank McArdle has been a conveyor belt of talent for Irish traditional music in Scotland for over 60 years. After previous sold-out Celtic Connections performances in 2014 and 2017 St. Rochs bring something completely unique to Celtic Connections 2025.

In August 2024 led by band leader and all Ireland fiddle champion 2017 Roisin Anne Hughes the 41-piece St. Roch’s Marching Band became the first marching band from outside Ireland to win the coveted All Ireland Marching Band title at the All-Ireland Fleadh in Wexford.

The Marching Band will be supported by their younger compatriots the St. Roch’s Big Band led by flautist Patricia Morrison, daughter of Frank and 2015 All Ireland duet champion with Roisin Anne.

The St. Roch’s big band comprises 40 of the most talented young trad musicians in Glasgow.

Both include multiple all Ireland champions, BBC musician of the 2013 winner Paddy Callaghan and multiple finalists and semi-finalists. Expect full band pieces, stripped back solos, duets and house band pieces alongside guest singers and musicians.

The St. Roch’s Extravaganza promises to be an utterly unique celebration concert not to be missed. A restoration fund charge may apply to this venue. Click here to find out more about this .
