Details

After the huge success of their Our Stomping Grounds Festival in June, and their sell out show at Stockton International Riverside Festival, Full Circle Theatre Company is back with a brand new show, Storiescapes, promising to bring their trademark style of powerful, poignant and witty highly visual theatre back to ARC’s main stage.

Storiescapes looks at who gets to tell their stories, asking why is it actors, singers, sportspeople and celebrities who get their autobiographies on the bookshelves.

This striking new piece of work from the learning disabled ensemble of actors is set in an escape room where stories of some people have been locked away and hidden for hundreds of years. Each of the actors embodies a story and its fight to break free to be told.

Will the stories of learning disabled people ever be told properly? From their point of view? The stories have to solve the puzzles of the Escape Room to be told and if they do it you’ll hear about being an adventurer whose hot air balloon escapes with them, a poet whose book lights up whenever they write something new, a magical horse ride through the air, a DJ who is a big crook, an opera singer finally able to sing her heart out, festival goers, detectives, drummers, and party hosts with cocktail shakers.

What will happen to the world if all these stories break free? You’ll have to book tickets and come and see.
