Winner of the 2023 Parliamentary Jazz Media Award for 'Best Newcomer', Sultan Stevenson has emerged as one of London's most dynamic young jazz talents. From intimate venues like The Vortex to prestigious stages such as The Jazz Cafe and The EFG London Jazz Festival, Sultan’s performances have captivated audiences. He draws inspiration from jazz legends like McCoy Tyner, Kenny Kirkland, and Ahmad Jamal.
In 2025, Sultan is set to release his second album, "El Roi,". His first album Faithful One was meant to great commercial success and rave reviews from critics.
This year he performed a showcase slot at SXSW in Texas, as well as a Showcase at Jazzahead! in Germany, the Brick Lane Jazz Festival, and a sold-out Cheltenham Jazz Festival concert. The rest of his 2024 tour will see him perform at some of the most important venues on the European jazz scene. EFG London Jazz Festival, Jamboree (Barcelona), Transition Festival (Utrecht, Netherlands) and Riv38 (Paris). His recent interview and live performance on BBC Radio 3 underscore his growing influence in the jazz world.
