Tales from Up Here and Over There with David Silk

Join us in the Harbottle Suite of the Black Gate for an evening of local North-East folklore with Dave Silk.

Dave Silk is a storyteller and historian from Newcastle upon Tyne and co-author of Tyne and Wear Folktales for Children. He collects and retells traditional tales and ancient stories from around these isles and further afield, and also enjoys rearing pet leeches and practising the Dark Arts.

In Tales from Up Here and Over There he retells a host of wild, magical and downright weird legends from the North East of England and explores some of the local folklore behind these strange legends. Hear tales of shapeshifting kows, wicked fairies, talking cats and more. This is a storytelling show for grown-ups, but should be suitable for older kids as well (12+)
