Uta Hagen is one of the most important theatre practitioners of the last 100 years. Her books, Respect for Acting and A Challenge for the Actor, are on every drama schools reading list. Among the many alumni of her legendary classes are Matthew Broderick, Sigourney Weaver, Whoopi Goldberg and Al Pacino. Uta Hagen's draw is that not only was she a world renowned teacher, but she was also a brilliant actor, starring as the original Martha in Edward Albee's "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf"., so unlike a lot of other acting teachers she applied her own practical philosophy directly to her own acting work. During this 6 hour intensive we will look at 2 exercises that channel Uta Hagen's practical approach to the craft of acting. These 2 exercises require a small amount of preparation time so when you sign up to this intensive I will email you details of what to prepare for the class. 10am - 4pm (including a break for lunch).
