'We are only what we always were but naked now'

A dramatized and partially fictionalised story of the Salem witch trials, Arthur Miller's classic play follows the troubled lives of the people of seventeenth century Massachusetts. John Proctor, a farmer, and his wife Elizabeth are haunted by Proctor's affair with seventeen-year-old Abigail Williams. When Reverend Hale arrives to investigate accusations of witchcraft, the voices of desperate children are lifted above reason.

In a town crying witchcraft, everyone must make a choice between integrity and self-preservation.
