The Hothouse by Harold Pinter

Details

A darkly comic take on the office environment with murderous consequences. Written by Pinter in the 1950s, The Hothouse has enjoyed a resurgence of popularity as its message has become even more relevant in today’s world. Laughs and shocks fill this fast-paced play with lots of bombastic characters! There has been a death on the premises which troubles the staff, but not nearly as much as finding out that a patient is pregnant. As far as the boss, Colonel Roote, is concerned it means that things are going from bad to worse. He delegates the finding of the father to his subordinate, Gibbs, who in turn is frustrated by his colleagues, Lush and Miss Cutts. A power play ensues as they all struggle to keep their heads above water. (n.b. Suitable for age over 16, with parental guidance)
