Masterful, eloquent and deliciously exciting jazz from a much revered virtuoso

As a young musician Tim Whitehead was a gifted classical clarinettist. At university, whilst continuing his music, Tim studied Law, but soon after soon after qualifying he realised that the ‘pull’ of performance and particularly Jazz proved too strong and he opted to follow music, not law. His trajectory into the musical stratosphere has included USA tours with top American pianist Phil de Greg, membership of the 80’s groundbreaking jazz ensemble 'Loose Tubes’ and in 2009 he was nominated as Artist In Residence at Tate Britain. These are just some highlights of a stellar career - so - we are proud to have Tim perform at The Jazz Cave with a hand-picked band including pianist Jonathan Taylor, bassist Paul Jefferies and drummer Alex Goodyear.
