Details

Posing as an amateur string quartet, Professor Marcus and his gang rent a room in the home of an elderly widow, Mrs Wilberforce. The odd-ball crew plan to involve her unwittingly in their brilliant heist for the Great Kings Cross Train Robbery. However, they reckon without her naturally suspicious imagination. She must be kept quiet - but who will eventually face the music?

Written by Graham Linehan (Father Ted, The Black Books, The IT Crowd, Count Arthur Strong), this adaptation of the much-loved classic Ealing black comedy became a great stage success, winning the 2013 WhatsOnStage award for the Best New Comedy and was nominated in the same year's Olivier Awards for best new play.
