The Lion In Winter by James Goldman

Details

Directed by Linda Russell It's Christmas 1183 in the Royal Household of Henry II. A happy family reunion? NOT! Into the pot put Henry II, his estranged wife Eleanor of Aquitaine, their three surviving sons, all vying for position to inherit their father's crown, and the new young King of France with his sister who happens to be Henry's mistress. To add spice to the already toxic mix, the King and Queen fervently disagree about which son should inherit, both determined to get their own way. Think medieval Eastenders, or Megan Markle versus the Windsors! An entertaining evening of family politics, fireworks and acerbic wit.
