Exceptional students from The Purcell School return to Cadogan Hall for their Spring Term orchestral concert. Marking the year of Ravel’s 150th anniversary, the programme opens with his Mother Goose Suite. The piece, originally written as a five-movement piano duet in 1910, was orchestrated by Ravel in 1911.
Alumnus Herman Cerisha returns to perform Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 3 in C minor, and Dvořák’s Eighth Symphony completes the programme.
The Purcell School is Britain’s oldest music school. Situated on the outskirts of London in Bushey, Hertfordshire, the co-educational boarding and day school is home to around 196 musically talented young people, all of whom are passionate about fulfilling their talent.
