Details
The Wilderness Yet combines the acclaimed talents of folk singer Rosie Hodgson, traditional fiddler Rowan Piggott, and guitarist-flautist Philippe Barnes. Independently, they have earned audiences esteem as consummate musicians. Together, they weave an eclectic tapestry of traditional and original songs and tunes, from a cappella three-part harmonies to luscious instrumental arrangements. They take their inspiration from nature, with many of their songs focusing on the wonders of the world around us. They also have close links to the Irish traditional music scene - Rosie and Philippe were members of the London-Irish band Crossharbour, while Rowan grew up on the west coast of Ireland, surrounded by traditional music.
The band's eponymous debut album was released in 2020 to critical acclaim, and was closely followed by John O' Dreams, an EP of commissioned covers. Their latest studio album, What Holds The World Together, was released in July 2022, with airplay on BBC Radio 2, 3 and 6 and an entry in the Official Folk Albums Chart Top 40.
